The town of Durbuy is located at the entrance of the Forest of Ardennes, a region of extensive forests and rural heritage. The old medieval town of Durbuy gives access to a variety of sustainable outdoor possibilities in the vicinity, including walking trails, kayaking, mountain biking, climbing and geocaching. Since Durbuy has received the Eden Award from the European Commission, its efforts are high to maintain its status as a sustainable destination through a high level of partnership between the local gastronomy and producers. Other examples are the protection of flora and fauna by using eco-friendly solutions for public garden maintenance and separate waste collection for every house (B&B’s included).
