During the last years the capital of Slovenia has been putting lots of efforts to become a city with high environmental standards. Ljubljana is one of the greenest European capitals offering to its residents as well as visitors a wide number of green areas. And the city center is now closed to motor vehicle traffic. Those are just a few of many sustainable tourism actions that Ljubljana implemented and which have been recognized,  Ljubljana being awarded the title of European Green Capital 2016.

This destination participated in the 2019 Sustainable Top 100 Destination Awards at ITB Berlin by submitting a sustainable tourism story. Keywords: locally grown food, exchange, local economy
