Drniš is a town located in the southern part of Croatia. This destination works actively on the preservation and promotion of its heritage composed of the National Park Krka and the river canyon Čikola both being designated as protected natural areas, as well as numerous historical monuments such as remains of several medieval fortresses, various churches, the Franciscan Monastery on the Visovac Island and some watermills. Drniš has a rich intangible heritage and the folklore scene, within which the traditional singing folk called Ojkavica, is part of the UNESCO List of Intangible Heritage.
This destination participated in the 2019 Sustainable Top 100 Destination Awards at ITB Berlin by submitting a sustainable tourism story. Keywords: local employment, economic development
