Katwijk aan Zee is a coastal town of the South-Holland province located between the Berkheide dunes (in the South) and the Coepelduynen (in the North). Both are protected natural areas with a large biodiversity due to low-impact traditional activities related to fishing net maintenance and agriculture. Tourism pressure is relatively low and aim at families as main target group. Katwijk offers its visitors excellent water quality beaches for bathing and Green Key awarded services (three camping sites and a beach restaurant). Katwijk also promotes its local products. It is a destination striving to live by the concept of Cradle to Cradle.
